[PS TUT] Make a nice and clean signature! for NEWBIES

Loads of people have standard sigs with renders and stuff right now.. I just changed mine to a really simple/'clean' one, on purpose. Trust me I know how to make more advanced things in photoshop, but this tut is really for the newbies Biggrin This is my first tut on HF by the way (comment and rep if you like).

This is a STEP BY STEP tut, but you do not have to do everything as I do. Try to be creative; I'm only here to guide you.

Please note that the screenshots somehow get blurred by like 10%. If your results vary by sharpness, that's normal Smile Also, there is an image limit of 10 on this forum, so half of them are linked in spoilers!.

You will need:
1) Make a new file; 400x150.

2) Install your brushes if you have not yet done so. Click here to read how. Then make your whole image red:

3) Use the brush tool and start adding some black/colors with the downloaded brush(es). THIS SCREENSHOT GOT BLURRED A LOT! Urs shouldn't be.

4) Duplicate the layer (right-click and choose duplicate layer..), and add a wind filter (stylize > wind):

Now change the opacity of that layer to about 20%. Now merge the layers by selecting them, and right clicking > merge layers.

5) Go to filter > sharpen > sharpen a couple of times until you get something like this:

6) Now we are going to change the lighting a little. Go to render > lighting effects.

Make the light type "Omni", and make sure you have the settings like I do (or change it to your liking):

So far:

7) Now we are going to make a stroke, which is a border around the image. For the tutorials sake I'm going to make it white, but you could make it black or whatever u like.

Press CTRL + A (or of ur on a mac CMD+ A) to select the whole image. Make sure u have the marguee tool selected, right click and choose stroke:
Click the color tab to choose a color.

Stroked:

Ok right now we are going to add text. The font I use is BankGothic Md BT Medium (click me)

7) Add white text. Double click the text layer and change the settings the way I have them (or similar)

My result (so far)

After that you could even use the color replacer tool:

So guys that's it. As you can see it's REALLY simple, and you can start adding even more stuff like renders if you like.
